Frequently Asked Questions

F.A.Q.
If I'm not officially accepted yet, what am I allowed to do in the OOC communities?
You are perfectly welcome to ask questions or comment to posts in [community profile] damned_lounge even if you haven't been accepted yet. However, we do not allow potential players to post with journals for characters who have not officially been accepted, and unless otherwise noted, non-players may not vote in any of the administrative polls.

As a potential applicant, what is the best way to contact a mod if I have questions about my application?
We prefer to be emailed at damned.mods[at]gmail[dot]com so that we have a record of the question and having answered it. Leaving a comment on this post is also fine, if you don't mind the question being public.

I've submitted an application, but it's been a while and I haven't heard back. What should I do?
We do our best to list the status of applications in our inbox over here. However, sometimes we do fall behind. If it's been a week and you haven't received a response, please feel free to contact one of the mods (on plurk, with a DW PM, etc.) to inquire about your application status.

Oh man, I apologize for being a bother! This is going to be annoyingly technical.

Regarding the Arts & Crafts Room: the room description does not specifically say what sort of materials are available for sewing, except that scissors are barely sharp enough to cut paper. "Dolores's" comment (http://community.livejournal.com/damned_bulletin/702692.html?thread=18417124#t18417124) on the suggestion post implies that the fabric is also no good, and needles substandard.

What I'd like to know is: a) what are the specific supplies (orz, sorry!! but like... thread, etc), b) are things that bad, c) can better supplies be accessed on request with, idk, supervision, and d) are patients allowed to modify their uniforms in small ways? Like, stitching a symbol on a sleeve, or something like that?

On an unrelated note, would it be permissible to post to the lounge gauging the "spirit power" of the characters? To know if Uryuu would be able to sense something, and also, if/when he pulls out his bow, if xy or z would be able to see it.

sdlfds omg aaah SORRY THANKS

OKAY, SORRY FOR THE WAIT.

So, generally the supplies are pretty bad, but if Ishida were to question a nurse about it, she would probably tell him that he could be given good supplies (proper scissors for cutting fabric, good needle/thread, etc.) if he remained on good behavior -- but even then, they would only let him use it under supervision.

As for sewing stuff onto clothes, the nurses wouldn't allow it. It would be feasible for him to go into A&C at night and steal the sewing supplies and then work on modifying his uniform in his room, but he'd only be able to wear it at night - if he tried it during the day he'd be forced to change and they'd probably dispose of the modified clothing. :(

Also, we're actually trying to avoid those lounge posts as much as we can these days. Sorry, it's just that it seems like since it's a situational thing, it might be easier to just ask your thread mates in the even that it comes up. I hope that makes sense!

/TWO THUMBS WAY WAY UP

Is it then reasonable to assume that there are better supplies & fabrics available in A&C, just not given to the patients unless under supervision? Thus, if he were to steal supplies at night, he'd be able to steal quality supplies?

Got it on both fronts! Suppose it was really, really small, and on the inside of a sleeve -- as a kind of :PPP and for himself, rather than to show it off? (of course, even on the inside thread would show, but maybe if that small...) Understandable, re: lounge posts. Will do!
